About the Journal

Asian Journal of Plant Stress focuses on the responses of plants and other photoautotrophs (such as algae, cyanobacteria, and lichens) to abiotic and biotic stress factors that limit growth and productivity. The journal provides a platform for research exploring physiological, biochemical, and molecular mechanisms of stress responses. We welcome experimental studies and technological advancements aimed at improving growth and productivity under stress, particularly those with downstream applications. The journal invites both fundamental and applied research, as long as the research is driven by clear mechanistic hypotheses. Descriptive studies without in-depth analysis will not be considered.

The journal encourages submissions addressing plant interactions with stressors, including but not limited to:

  • Drought and flooding
  • Salinity stress
  • Thermal extremes
  • Hypoxia and anoxia
  • Nutrient imbalances (deficiency or excess)
  • Heavy metal and metalloid toxicity
  • Plant priming strategies (chemical, biological, physiological, nanomaterial, biostimulants) for enhanced stress tolerance
  • Plant-pathogen interactions involving viruses, bacteria, fungi, and phytoplasmas

We accept original research articles, review papers, and short communications. Review articles should critically assess current knowledge and propose new directions for research. All manuscripts will undergo a rigorous peer-review process.
